Fused Brown Aluminium Oxide

Brown Aluminium Oxide abrasive is electrically fused in an arc furnace at very high temperatures from a mixture of Bauxite & Coke (anthracite) as the main raw materials. Also called Corundum and Alumina, Aluminium Oxide is a very hard material.

With a Mohs hardness of 9, Aluminium Oxide is a high strength, wear-resistant material possessing a strong ability to resist chemical attacks (such as acid and alkali) at extreme temperatures. Its high degree of refractoriness, along with its superior electrical insulating properties and high melting point make Aluminium Oxide a desirable material choice for a diverse range of applications.

Common uses and industries include Anti-Slip, Concrete Strengthening, Blasting Media, Grinding, Polishing, Lapping, Metal Preparation, Ceramic Shapes, Laminates, Coatings, Filtration, Abrasives, Polishing, Milling, Filler, Electrical Insulator, Refractories.

Our “Tilting Furnace” material is the highest quality available compared with Fixed Furnace grit.
