Green Silicon Carbide abrasive is electrically fused in an arc furnace at very high temperatures from a mixture of Quartz and Petroleum Coke as main raw materials, a small amount of Chromium Oxide gives it the green colour.
Green Silicon Carbide is a harder material with a higher purity than Black SiC.
It is also superior with hardness at Mohs 9.15 and has a higher purity and grinding ability compared to Black. It has high electrical and heat conductivity.
Common uses and industries include Grinding, Glass & Metal Polishing, Lapping, Ceramic Shapes, Laminates, Coatings, Filtration, Abrasives, Refractory, Milling, Filler.

Green SiC is widely used in optical polishing, cutting, surface preparation.
